Naytra’s Process
“We make the garments from the highest quality organic mulberry silk using the most environmentally friendly techniques possible. Each piece is handcrafted, cut, and sewn.
We also use eco-friendly packaging and have designed cotton bags. Because we have no plastic policy, everything is cotton or silk, even our tags.”
Naytra’s Impact
Naytra focuses on a few key areas to advance its mission to be environmentally friendly, starting with sustainability. We make high-quality organic mulberry silk garments using the most environmentally friendly techniques possible. Each piece is handcrafted, cut, and sewn, which helps to limit carbon emissions. We also use eco-friendly packaging and have designed cotton bags which we send to our customers with love with every purchase. Because we have no plastic policy, everything is cotton or silk. That helps limit any waste that goes to landfills. Furthermore, as we make only silk garments which will remain in our customers’ closets for a long time, we also promote slow and sustainable fashion.
Naytra also cares for supporting those in need. Our mission runs deeper than just creating these unique garments. There are 273 million people in the world who are visually impaired. These people cannot enjoy the riot of colors, fashion, and art we take for granted when we wake up every morning. While we were disheartened to learn that 90% of these visually impaired people suffer from curable blindness, we are inspired to know that there is something we can do to help. Hence, the birth of “Naytra,” which means “Eyes” in Hindi & Sanskrit — and pronounced as “neh-trah.” We aspire to work to cure blindness. Every time we sell a piece from Naytra, we give someone the gift of eyesight. This is our gift to the world.
Naytra’s Process
Supporting the female artisans and their communities.
Naytra’s process is an intricate one. We reach out to female folk artists living in remote Indian villages. Naytra eliminates the need for go-betweens and works with these artisans directly. Naytra introduces folk art to a broader audience and provides a source of additional revenue for their art. We ensure we pay them a fair wage for their artwork and support them and their communities. To that accord, we have dedicated a page on our website to these fine artisans who are keeping this thousand of year-old folk art alive.

We also use eco-friendly packaging and have designed cotton bags. Because we have no plastic policy, everything is cotton or silk, even our tags are made from recycled paper.
